Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin, who was raised in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg began her acting career in The Piano. At age 11 she was an infant Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Following a prompt for auditions, she was able to audition at the age of nine years old, with no previous experience in acting the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's part. Flora is the daughter of an Scottish pianist who was mute. The couple were relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to arrange a marriage. As a teenager, her family moved from Canadian to United States. Paquin made her debut as a child with a part as the Jane Eyre protagonist in the Franco Zeffirelli novel Jane Eyre as well as she played a significant role on the film Fly Away Home. She played the role of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
