Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's written 15 books. She is also the co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer and television host, as well as philanthropist as well as the owner and publisher of The Huffington Post. After moving to England from Greece at the age of 16, she received a MA in Economics at Cambridge University. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it before the age of 21. The success of her conservative journalist was further consolidated when she graduated. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online platform for voice that gave an honest assessment of the current politics. Her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna was famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Additionally she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. She was named one of the Most Popular Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in the list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as the president of their media company that also includes other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. The way she lived her life was determined by her closeness to her mother as well as her relationship with her father even though she was very close to her father. Through her early period, she displayed leadership skills for which are still prominently known. At the age of 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. As a student she was a member of the Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college and eventually was its first female and foreign president. In 1972, she earned a master's degree in Economics. Following her degree she became a columnist, critic and a host on TV. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
